Meet Dania Gerhardt
The story behind Wingways
2001 — OAHU
When her watersports journey started
Dania's journey in watersports started back in 2001 during a holiday on Oahu, where she discovered kitesurfing with a two-line Wipika kite and windsurfing at the same time.
She was never a professional athlete and never will be. Watersports have always been part of her life alongside her career, raising a family, travelling and everything in between. They've been her way of getting outside, challenging herself, meeting great people and, most importantly, having fun.

2020 — GETTING INVOLVED
Youth development & kite events
After moving to Australia Dania became much more involved in the local watersports community working with Kiteboarding Australia and Kiteboarding Western Australia, helping develop a junior program and running local and national competitions as an event and race director.
2025 — GETTING HOOKED
The wingfoiling journey begins
There's something incredibly addictive about wingfoiling the freedom, the simplicity, the feeling of flying across the water and the fact that there's always something new to master. Since 2025 Dania has dedicated most of her time to wingfoiling - be it riding at her home spot in Perth, doing her IWO Instructor certification or organising trips for Wing women.

TODAY
That's where Wingways comes in
Wingways was created to bring together wingfoiling, adventure, travel, learning and great people. Women are at the heart of Wingways, building, but Wingways is open to anyone who shares the same enthusiasm for wind, water, learning and adventure.
